There's
little doubt that beyond the impact of a chewed sweater or paw print
kitchen floor, pets provide many physiological benefits that are just
as likely to bring our blood pressure down as up. In fact, the
therapeutic value of pets has long been recognized in nursing care
centers and hospitals. As with all the pets we feature on this site,
the term "pets" is a bit of a misnomer because many of the animals that
perform the tasks we highlight are trained and carefully selected to
perform the specific tasks we find so valuable. Below, we share with
you some of the organizations who specialize in these efforts. Please
visit our guests and our sponsors below.

Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc

Photo copyright The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. at www.pet-therapist.com is a non-profit organization which does
not accept monetary compensation for its pet therapy services to nursing homes,
hospitals, psychiatric wards and other facilities where emotional service dogs
are indispensable. The pet therapy
organization uses donations for its services and is an all volunteer
organization. Their dogs must qualify to
become members and then they can provide these services to the people who need
them. This wonderful therapy pet
organization provides the evaluation, testing, training and qualification of
the therapy dogs. Once they qualify, the
dogs can receive many benefits including primary accident and liability
insurance within the US
and therapy dog equipment.
